Shabbaton 2014

RESCHEDULED - New Dates to be Announced

Nurture: (definition) To be cared for and helped to grow

Come explore, experience and celebrate the many ways Judaism nurtures us, and we nurture our Judaism. Temple Emanuel's (first in 160 years) Sabbaton weekend will be held at Kutz Camp & Retreat Center, the Northeast’s premier URJ retreat, just 1 hour southwest of Kingston. http://kutz.urjcamps.org/

Bring your family and friends.
Together we will experience the joys and mysteries of the Sabbath magnified by the power of our community. Rabbi Yael will be leading us in prayer for Shabbat worship and the very mystical Erev Selichot Service on Saturday evening during which we will weave the theme of the weekend with the traditional spiritual work of preparing for the High Holy Days. Unique programming and interactive events are being created for your participation in this special event. Expect lively discussion; fun and laughter; good food and drink and many other activities that nurture our body, mind, and soul.

Prepare to be engaged, inspired, empowered, amused and connected.

The planning committee (want to join us?) is busy designing a weekend filled to the brim with activities that reflect the multi-facetted aspects of the Sabbath as well as the varied interests of our community members. In many cases there will be several events going on at the same time for attendees to choose from. The following is an outline of the weekend. Please note, times and activities are subject to revision. Programming will be continually updated on this site.

Participants may want to supplement this with some personal bedding from home.

Private bathrooms are available with most of the rooms and will be assigned on a first come first served basis. Shared bathrooms are with one other room. See registration form for more details.

Meals are provided in the dining hall during scheduled meal times, and some snacks will be provided.  Meals will follow Temple Emanuel's Food & Dietary Guidelines.

This is a non smoking property. There is a designated area by the parking lot where smoking is allowed.

Cell phone service is spotty. There is an area near the parking lot where signals are strongest from certain cell providers.
